La Belle Arts Health and Safety Policy
At La Belle Arts (LBA), the health and safety of our students, staff, and visitors is our top priority. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where creativity and confidence can flourish.
1. General Statement of Policy
We are dedicated to:
Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of everyone involved in our classes and activities.
Complying fully with health and safety legislation and best practices.
Regularly reviewing and updating our policies to maintain a secure environment.
2. Responsibilities
a. LBA Management:
Conduct regular risk assessments of all facilities and activities.
Provide clear guidelines and training for staff on health and safety practices.
Maintain first aid supplies and ensure staff members are trained in first aid.
b. Instructors and Staff:
Follow LBA’s health and safety procedures at all times.
Monitor the well-being of students and report any concerns promptly.
Ensure the proper use of equipment and maintain a safe teaching environment.
c. Students and Visitors:
Follow the instructions provided by LBA staff.
Report any hazards, injuries, or health concerns immediately to a member of staff.
3. Key Policies and Procedures
a. Emergency Procedures:
All staff are trained in emergency response, including fire evacuation and first aid.
Emergency exits are clearly marked and kept unobstructed.
Regular fire drills are conducted to ensure preparedness.
b. First Aid and Incident Reporting:
First aid kits are available on-site.
Instructors are first aid certified and prepared to respond to emergencies.
All injuries or incidents, however minor, must be reported to staff and documented appropriately.
c. Hygiene and Cleanliness:
Studios and common areas are cleaned regularly to maintain hygiene.
Hand sanitizers are provided, and students are encouraged to use them before and after class.
Shared equipment is sanitized between uses.
d. Child Protection and Safeguarding:
All staff undergo regular safeguarding training and hold enhanced DBS checks.
Clear procedures are in place to address concerns about a child’s welfare.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to communicate openly with staff regarding their child’s needs.
4. COVID-19 and Public Health Measures
We adhere to current government guidelines to protect against infectious diseases. Measures include:
Encouraging mask-wearing when necessary.
Maintaining physical distancing in line with regulations.
Keeping students and staff informed about any changes to safety protocols.
