La Belle Arts Child Protection Policy
At La Belle Arts (LBA), we are fully committed to the safety and welfare of all children in our care. We take our responsibilities seriously and aim to create a secure and supportive environment where every child can thrive and express themselves freely.
Our Commitment to Child Protection
The safety and wellbeing of our students are of paramount importance. We believe that all children have the right to grow, learn, and develop in an environment that is free from harm, and we are committed to ensuring that our practices and procedures reflect this.
Safe Environment
We provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming space for all students. This includes regular health and safety checks on our premises and ensuring that our teaching spaces are secure and well-maintained.
Trained Staff
All staff members at LBA undergo thorough training on child protection and safeguarding. This ensures they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to support the wellbeing of every child in our care. Staff members receive regular updates and training to stay current with safeguarding practices and legal requirements.
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
LBA has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who is responsible for overseeing safeguarding concerns and ensuring appropriate actions are taken. The DSL is always available to provide support and guidance.
Open Communication
We believe that clear communication between students, parents, and staff is essential. Our team is always available to listen to any concerns and to provide support as needed. If you ever feel that a child’s safety is at risk, please speak to a member of staff immediately.
Our Procedures
We have clear and well-established procedures in place for identifying and responding to concerns about a child’s welfare. These procedures are in line with local and national guidelines for child protection and safeguarding.
Reporting Concerns
If a parent, student, or staff member has any concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing, we encourage them to raise these concerns promptly. All concerns will be taken seriously and will be investigated confidentially and sensitively. We encourage open dialogue and are committed to taking the necessary steps to address concerns.
Appropriate Action
If necessary, we will take appropriate action, which may include referring the matter to local authorities or other relevant agencies. Our aim is always to ensure that the best interests of the child are at the forefront of any decision-making.
What Parents Can Expect
As parents and guardians, we want you to feel confident that your child is in safe hands while attending our classes. Here’s how we work together to ensure their safety:
Open Communication
We value the communication we have with parents and believe in working together to ensure the safety and happiness of our students. If you ever have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We are here to listen and collaborate to provide the best possible environment for your child.
Parental Responsibility
While we are committed to ensuring a safe environment at all times, we also ask that parents take responsibility for ensuring that their child’s physical and emotional needs are met before and after class. Specifically, we ask that parents ensure the following:
Appropriate Clothing: Please ensure that your child arrives at class in suitable, comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. This is especially important for dance and physical activities.
No Jewelry: For the safety of all students, please ensure that your child does not wear jewelry during class, including necklaces, rings, bracelets, or earrings, to avoid accidents or injuries.
Water Bottle: All students should bring a water bottle to class to stay hydrated, especially during physical activity. It is important that students can access water throughout the class.
Snacks & Nut-Free Policy: We request that no snacks be brought to class unless necessary for medical reasons. Additionally, due to potential nut allergies, please ensure that any snacks brought to class are nut-free. This helps us ensure the safety of all our students.
Please ensure your child is collected promptly at the end of their class and that all emergency contact details are kept up-to-date.
Confidentiality and Privacy
We are committed to protecting the privacy of our students and their families. Any information shared with us regarding a child’s welfare or protection will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Information will only be shared on a need-to-know basis or in accordance with the law. We will always ensure that sensitive information is handled and stored securely.
Our Commitment to Ongoing Improvement
Child protection and safeguarding is an ongoing commitment. We regularly review our policies and procedures to ensure they remain up-to-date and effective. We welcome feedback from students, parents, and staff as part of this process.
We are dedicated to creating a culture where all children are protected, valued, and supported. At LBA, every child’s safety and wellbeing come first.
